As fur coats continue to fall out of fashion with increased awareness about the cruelty of the worldwide animal fur trade, some amazing animal welfare organizations are finding wonderful new ways to help animals using old fur coats. Organizations like Cuddle Coats and Born Free USA began to accept donations of unwanted furs and repurposed them to be used as soft, warm bedding for orphaned baby animals at wildlife rehabilitation centers all over the U.S.
Do you have any of your grandma’s old furs gathering dust in the closet? Consider donating them to an organization that will put them to very good use. Just be sure to contact them first before sending! Fur coat drives have gotten an overwhelming response in the past, and these groups are not always accepting more coats.
You can also check out the Born Free USA website for a list of animal rescue centers and wildlife sanctuaries that have benefitted from the fur coat program.
Your Animal Hearted purchase saves lives! 25% of all proceeds are donated to no kill animal shelters!
