When I was younger, I used to think that a basset hound’s ears never stopped growing. That means, even long after the dog has reached it’s full grown adult size, its ears would tack on an inch or two, year by year, eventually reaching such a daunting length that it would become quite a challenging task for the hound to dodge stepping on them. Although unrealistic, it’s fun to imagine a Basset Hound dragging his ears behind him in the dust.
