It’s a well-known fact that therapy animals like dogs and cats bring some much needed comfort and happiness to places like hospitals and nursing homes. But no one said other animals couldn’t do the job just as well! Meet Travis, a sweet llama who visits the residents at the Life Center of Nashoba Valley, a nursing home in Massachusetts. Travis is a huge hit with the residents when he visits every few weeks, greeting his friends who always welcome him back with smiles and some gentle petting.
Check out this heartwarming video from National Geographic about Travis. As the story notes, interacting with animals is a great way to cheer nursing home residents and increase their engagement with the world around them.
