The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum
Ernest Hemingway called this Key West, Florida house his home for over ten years. Today it’s a popular museum and you can tour the house and gardens and learn about this famous author. Cat lovers know that the Hemingway House is a must-see destination. The place is home to between 40 and 50 polydactyl cats, descendants of a polydactyl kitty given to Hemingway by a sea captain. Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary
Rome, Italy is famous for its many street cats. You can wander through historic sites like the Colosseum and Forum and get your fill of the cats of Rome. Check out the plates of Italian food left for these kitties by some dedicated gattare (cat ladies). Want even more Roman cats? Then the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary is the place for you. Located at an ancient archeological site, the Torre Argentina is home to around 250 stray cats that are cared for by yet more Italian cat ladies!

Cat café aficionados know that Tokyo is the epicenter of the cat café universe. Some of the world’s first cat cafes are located in Tokyo, and there are more than enough open for business today to keep any traveling cat lover (and coffee lover) busy for days. The Supreme Cat Show
Great Britain’s Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) is one of the oldest and largest cat breed registry organizations in the world. Each November in Birmingham, England, it holds what many cat fanciers consider to be the greatest cat show in the world—the Supreme Cat Show. This show awards the highest champion honors to the fanciest purebred kitties in the UK. You can check out both well-known and rare breeds of cats in all shapes and sizes…sounds like kitty heaven!
